In this tradition, regional arts are accompanied by wayang kulit performances and sketches. In addition, the   community also  offers a variety  of  specialty dishes, such as tumpeng rice and,  as  recommended,  other types of traditional cuisine.

In addition to religious themes  , there  are also  various traditional ceremonies  held as a form of gratitude for the abundance of grace  in   subsistence from nature  . The first traditional ceremony  of the theme  was the sea feast.   The place of tradition  is in Pangandaran Ciamis and Pelabuhan Ratu, Sukabumi. The traditional ceremony of West Java  is ngalaksa as a  form of  gratitude for  the  next good of  the  creator. Unlike sea parties, which are usually held by fishermen, ngalaksa is organized by farmers.  This tradition is often  carried out by residents of Ranca Kalong district, Sumedang.

The process of applying ngalaksa is to transport the rice to the granary using  rengkong (long bamboo with holes usually used to transport rice  ). The event is in June. An interesting point  of the tradition  is the sound of rengkong music swinging while walking.

Ngalaksa  means the expression of  residents of the syukur  for the  success  of the harvest when  farming.  Society never forgets God’s role in life’s success. After obtaining favors during harvesting, the community always  performs ngalaksa  as a form of gratitude to the creator.

A Dat Ceremony West Java  Wedding Tradition Until Pregnancy

West Java has many traditional ceremonies. In fact,  there is not only 1 ceremony in weddings.  Among  the  ceremonies  at the wedding  is the neundeun speech. The tradition is to convey the intention of male parents to visit and practice to female parents in the context of friendship.

From the word Tingkep, Tingkepan has a closed meaning. The thing is that the future mother is forbidden to interfere with her husband within 40 days  after  birth.

The traditional West Java tingkepan ceremony  is usually filled with the reading and bathing of the pregnant mother. In this tradition, rujak kanistren, a rojak consisting of 7 types or types, is also offered.  The mother  will be bathed by the 7 closest family members by pouring seven flower juices.
